Improving Capabilities and Skills to Improve Performance

Aligned with the Operations Improvement Services, SD&S offer an extensive Improvement Courses Program based on the principles of Lean Six Sigma. The courses are given by first class and highly experienced instructors with extensive business experience. Through a good mix of theory and real case studies and business scenarios, the trainees will build the skills which they can immediately use in the operational environment of their own organization.

Case studies of “real life” Lean Six Sigma implementation are given throughout the courses. These Lean six Sigma case studies have quantified saving in excess of 36 Million and our examples demonstrate the importance of the approach throughout.

SD&S Lean 6 Sigma training courses are currently run in Nottingham, UK and The Hague, Netherlands however we are flexible and can offer our courses in most locations. Please call to discuss your own requirements. SD&S Training philosophy:

The Gateway Arch is known as the "Gateway to the West". It is the tallest habitable structure in St. Louis as well as the world's tallest monument. Construction began February 12, 1963 and the last section of the Arch was completed on October 28, 1965. The Arch is a structure known as a catenary curve, the shape a free-hanging chain takes when held at both ends, and considered the most structurally-sound arch shape. Nine hundred tons of stainless steel was used to build the Arch, more than any other project in history. In order to ensure that the constructed legs would meet, the margin of error for failure was 1/64th of an inch. All survey work was done at night to eliminate distortion caused by the sun's rays. Since the Arch was constructed before the advent of computer technology, relatively crude instruments were used for these measurements.
